Here is a step by step procedure on configuring your SE phone gprs se ttings especially for noobs.
EDITING DATA COMM.
1. Go to Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Data Comm > Data Accounts
2. Click New Account > GPRS Data
3. Type in your preferred account name
4. Click Continue
5. Edit APN:
>> Globe: http.globe.com.ph
>> Smart: internet
6. Leave the rest blank.
7. Click save.
CONFIGURING INTERNET SETTINGS
1. Go to Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Internet Settings
2. Click either:
>> Internet Profiles for built in browsing configuration
>> Settings for Java for java aPplications (Opera Mini, Bolt, TeaShark, UCWeb, etc) configuration.
Settings for Java
1. Click New Profile
2. Name: type in your desired profile name
Connect using: select the data account you made previously
3. Save.
4. Edit your new profile by clicking More then choose Settings:
>> Connect using: data account (APN)
>> Use proxy: Yes
>> Proxy address: IP required by your java browser
>> Port: corresponding port
>> Leave the rest blank
5. Save.
6. Make sure your new profile is selected before exiting
7. Open your java browser, enjoy browsing.
Internet Profiles (for built in)
NOTE: This se tting is used to configure your connection using cgi's and phproxies.
1. Follow steps 1 to 5 from se ttings for java. For proxy and port, just key in your cgi/phproxy's corresponding fields
2. To edit your bookmark, on your new profile, click More then choose Advanced.
3. Click Change Homepage:
>> Name: your desired name
>> Address: type here the bookmark of your phproxy/cgi
4. Save
5.Make sure you select your created profile before exiting.
6. Go to Menu > Internet > enjoy browsing or simple press the globe key on your keypad.
